Topic: Hyperscaling design - new database feature to handle big scaling applications

Abstract: As the rapid evolution of database technology reshapes our digital landscape, applications are scaling at an unprecedented pace. This has led to a surge in users prioritizing compatibility with closed-source databases and scalable cloud database solutions.

In this talk, Monty will dive deep into how to properly migrate existing applications from closed-source databases and save millions every year in licensing costs, based on the use cases from MariaDB server. 

MariaDB Server is an open source database capable of fulfilling enterprise level needs. MariaDB is backed by a non-profit Foundation, with strong engineering talent from an European for-profit entity, MariaDB PLC. MariaDB is already used by large corporations to handle critical workloads such as Alibaba, Tencent, Development Bank of Singapore (DBS), Microsoft etc.

Monty will also explore the concept of Hyperscaling Design and additional features integral to scalable cloud database solutions on the same hardware.
